DelCo Republican Women’s Club

Our April meeting showcased two separate events. The first was the presentation of the annual scholarship to a Delaware County high school senior. The requirements are simple – the selection is difficult. The high school seniors are required to write an essay on what it means to be a Republican and this years winner hit it out of the ball park. I had the opportunity to speak with he and his family after the presentation and this young man, and his family, give me hope that Republican ideals will not be lost with our younger generations. The second presentation was by Suzie O’Brien from Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s office and Director Karla Herron from the Delaware County Board of Elections. Nothing political – just the facts! And did you know that the primary turnout most years is in the teens? The 2020 Presidential Election set records – of course that was an important election. But please make your voice heard and vote in this primary, the primary in August (we think) and the General Election in November!

Remember to vote May 3

Or earlier…there are a lot of contested primary races out there! Believe me it takes a lot to put yourself in the spotlight and to run for office = especially statewide. Each of the seven running for the Senate, the four running for Governor and Lt. Governor and the two candidates for Secretary of State have all been working hard to earn our votes. I am proud to be a Republican where so many of my fellow Republicans want to serve the people of the Great State of Ohio. And remember to vote in the uncontested races also – our Republican candidates are great and we need to show the Democrats that we are coming out full force in November!!!

Another Lincoln Day Dinner

I travelled to Walnut Creek for the Holmes County Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by the Holmes County Republican Party. It was a wonderful dinner at a beautiful location and Chair Rob Hovis was a wonderful host. Senator Portman delivered an inspiring speech reminding all of us that elections matter. I was fortunate to sit with outstanding Republicans – including Justice Sharon Kennedy and Fifth District Court of Appeals Judge Craig Baldwin, both of whom are on the ballot this fall. In addition to Justice Kennedy, remember to vote for our Conservative jurists; Justice Pat Fisher and Justice Pat DeWine – we need to maintain our majority on the Ohio Supreme Court! Thank you Holmes County Republicans for a thoroughly enjoyable evening!
